Ixta Belfrage will be cooking recipes from her upcoming book MEZCLA: Recipes to Excite (July 22. Ebury Press) at Sonny Stores on August 9th 2022.

MEZCLA is Ixta’s first solo cookbook & means mix, blend or fusion in Spanish. During the evening, Ixta will be sharing her favourite mezcla of flavours with our guests, with signed copies available to buy on the night. Ixta’s style of cooking draws inspiration from the three countries where she grew up, travelled to, ate in & obsessed over: Brazil (where her mother is from), Italy (where she lived as a child) & Mexico (where her grandfather lived).

She cut her teeth at London's NOPI restaurant before moving to the Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, where she worked for Yotam Ottolenghi for five years, contributing to his columns in the Guardian & The New York Times. In 2020 she co-authored the New York Times bestselling FLAVOUR with Yotam Ottolenghi & in 2021 she was named one of the most influential women in food by Code Hospitality.
